So, if the entire infrastructure has been completed, what do the volunteers do now?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Carry on \u2013 is the answer! Our enthusiastic group has no intention of taking our \u2018foot off the gas\u2019 and we have many ideas and projects that we are looking forward to implementing, continuing to improve the habitat. BUT, this is only half of our work: NOW we have to begin to SAVE for the future.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t make the same mistake again!<\/strong><\/p>\n

In 15 years\u2019 time, we don\u2019t want the Havens to find itself back where it was in 2014 with an important route that connects the village, which is enjoyed by school children, walkers & naturalists, CLOSED due to safety fears & inadequate maintenance!<\/p>\n

Start Saving Now!<\/strong><\/p>\n

We are lucky enough to have a genuine community spirit and know we can call for help from our group of volunteers to\u00a0undertake regular upkeep. We also have a galvanized steel frame that is set to last. However, the Gripdeck walkway, kickboards and handrails will, after time and weather, require replacing (and yes, even one day the steel frame too!).<\/p>\n

Our objective at Support the Boardwalk is two-fold:<\/p>\n

1. Fundraise to Preserve<\/strong> \u2013 raise funds that will be set aside and saved so that in 10-15 years\u2019 time The Havens are in a position to refurbish\/replace the boardwalk.<\/p>\n

AIM:<\/strong> to raise & save \u00a320,000 in 10 years \u2013 that\u2019s just \u00a35.50 a day!<\/p>\n

Ideas include: Encourage locals & visitors to support this endeavor with \u2022 Regular annual contributions \u2022 One-off gift donations<\/p>\n

2. Fundraise to Enhance <\/strong>and add amenities –\u00a0<\/strong>Projects\u00a0that will benefit from\u00a0<\/strong>include:<\/p>\n
