The Slash Pond Community Nature Reserve is a an area of woodland, wetland around a large pond, that was formerly an open cast culm (a type of coal) mine. Free access is possible via a 275m boardwalk maintained by volunteers and the Community Council
This baby magpie sat there (despite squeaky pushchair, toddler and dog) and posed for the photo this morning.
Wonderful to enjoy the wildlife on the boardwalk.
Has anyone else got a wildlife photo to share?
